Sustainability at GH

We have a circular process as a hire company and we work hard to use products to the end of their life span, often extending their life due to good care and maintenance.

Packaging

• Use bio-degradable packaging where possible
• Use paper-based parcel tape to replace vinyl where possible
• Provide re-useable crates and art bags to reduce packaging (and this allows clients to return using the same packaging)
• Have bespoke (long-life) covers for many of our items
• Reuse bubble wrap and cardboard boxes until the end of their lifespan
• Work with Re-Made in Park Royal to give a second life to items that would otherwise go to landfill
• Re-gift surplus stock, what our staff cannot use goes to charity
• Any waste that we produce is sorted and recycled to minimise any land fill

Stock

• Expert dry cleaner and external repair specialists ensure items are returned to good condition and extend the life of the item
• Internal repairer allows for low-cost small repairs that might otherwise limit lifespan and reduces carbon footprint
• Repair, restore, reinvent and reupholster to give vintage purchases a second life

Environment

• Our showroom/offices use LED lighting throughout
• We have solar panels on our roof which generate some of the electricity we consume
• Temperature control is by evaporative cooling within our showroom areas
• Beautifying our outdoor areas for the pleasure of staff, clients and neighbours
• Internal plants to improve air quality and provide a pleasant environment
• Coffee machine pods recycled by supplier
• Cycle parking and encourage staff to use public transport
