We are excited to introduce our new collection: Hollywood Regency.
A style born of Hollywood's golden age, brought to the fore by designers such as Billy Haines and Dorothy Draper. Think opulence, grand scale and symmetry - tying together polished brass, bold colours and strong patterns.
New arrivals, a pair of elegant American heavily buttoned satin armchairs, seen here contrasted by the scale and strong geometric silhouette of our black lacquered screen. Both chinoiserie style lacquer work and the pale pink hue of the chairs are synonymous with the Hollywood Regency style.
A lesson in geometry. David Hicks, celebrated British interior decorator and designer, embraced the Hollywood Regency style during the second half of the 20th century. Best known for his work using intense colour and strongly patterned fabrics, he also designed a select number of furniture pieces. Styled here with our burnt orange velvet sofa, geometric rug and gold pressed screen - an original stacked brass coffee table by David Hicks from the 1970s.
We were spoilt for choice when it came to selecting the perfect pieces for our smalls showcase. Featuring elements of oriental influence such as faux bamboo and chinoiserie patterns, commonly used tones of turquoise and acid yellow, all punctuated by glimmering gold and brass.
